Due to the current bug going around, we’re not going to have a public meeting in March. We will post the date of our next meeting when we have been advised that it’s safe to meet in groups.

In the meantime, if you or someone you know needs help, don’t hesitate to call 571-969-3015, which is where you can leave a voicemail.

Or email us at pflagjerseycity@gmail.com and we’ll get back to you as quickly as we can.

And just in case you need a reminder, please Wash Your Hands. 🙏🏼

Twice in the last month our chapter has been involved in training teachers about gender identity and gender expression. It’s rewarding work, especially when we meet thoughtful educators who are dealing respectfully with their students.

We live in a diverse community, where people with different cultures, religions, and languages send their kids to schools which have guidelines mandated by state and local governments. How do we get everyone on the same page?

We tell our personal stories, we guide others to resources they may not know about, and we re-frame the issues so that important points don’t get overlooked.

There’s no single approach that works all the time in every situation, but if your school or community group needs help, please call on us.

You can reach us by email (pflagjerseycity@gmail.com) or by calling 571-969-3015 and leaving a voicemail. We’ll be happy to work with you!

Last week we attended the launch of Pride 365, the initiative of JC Pride which helps the city recognize Pride throughout the year, not just at the parade/festival in August. BTW: you can put the date for JCPride2020 on your calendar now—it’s Saturday, Aug 22.

There are going to be lots of events throughout the year that will fall under the umbrella of Pride 365, and we’ll try to list as many of them here on this site as we can, as well as on our Instagram page (@pflagjerseycity).

Here’s an event you’ll hopefully be able to attend this coming Saturday.

Drag Queen Story Hour is a popular program for youngsters, but this is the first time it’s going to be hosted at our library!

Sat, Feb 8th, 10am, in the children’s room of the Main Library on Jersey Ave. Make sure you arrive a few minutes early because there will probably be a big crowd!
